Last month it was announced that Gail Simone would be writing a new RED SONJA series. It was also announced that artists Nicola Scott, Colleen Doran, Jenny Frison,Stephanie Buscema and Fiona Staples would be the cover artists and we saw the covers by Nicola Scott and Fiona Staples. Now another artist has been added and that artist is Amanda Conner. Here’s what Gail Simone said about the cover artists: “I had this idea to ask the top female artists in the industry to do the covers and Dynamite ran with it beyond my dreams. Not only did all the artists we asked immediately agree, they all confessed their secret love for Sonja. They adore her! Lots of the artists submitted multiple sketches because they couldn’t stop, and many top names submitted sketches without even being asked, they love Sonja so much, and are dying to see this project.” You can check out all of the covers below and tell us what you think. Are you guys excited about this new series? RED SONJA #1 is on sale in July. Log in to Reply Travis McCollum April 9, 2013 I’m definitely interested in it, especially with Gail onboard. I haven’t read a ton of Sonja in the past but I think Gail will do a fantastic job with the series. In terms of the covers, I’m definitely trying to decide between Amanda Conner and Fiona Staples. Both are two of my favorite artists in the industry so it’ll be hard to choose.
