After dealing with the Joker’s creepy shenanigans, Batgirl’s new focus is her equally creepy and insane brother James. At the end of last issue, Batgirl appeared to be incinerated by a new villain named Firebug. Cut to this issue and Batgirl climbs out of the rubble only to learn that Robin has died.  Though saddened, Barbara soldiers on and despite her heavy heart she manages, to capture Firebug while the police capture many of Joker’s henchmen.

Through all of this, James continues his schemes working his way to his ultimate plan and the final showdown between the siblings is right around the corner…

This issue gets readers ready for not only the siblings’ battle but also the return of Gail Simone. Fawkes as done a great job filling in for Simone after DC’s fiasco.  Sampere’s art continues to be fabulous.

Verdict:

Buy it.
