Welcome back to another issue of the Talking Comics podcast. In this week’s podcast, our primary focus is all about our favourite writers. We take out some of the usual suspects to put the focus more on some other people we love the crap out of.

But before we get to that, we discuss the news of the week including our thoughts on Xbox ONE, James Robinson leaving DC, Villains Month, some Marvel cancellations and more.

We also take the time to talk about our favourite Books of the Week and comics that we mention include: X-Men Legacy, Ultimate Comics Spider-Man, Raven Girl, Daytripper, Axe Cop, Last of Us: American Dreams, Demeter, Arrow (the show not the comic), Dream Thief, The Fall of the House of Usher, X-Factor, Batgirl, Avengers: The Enemy Within and more.

Listener questions are answered to finish off the show (prior to the new releases and our goodbyes), so remember to always send us in your questions and we’ll try our best to answer them.

Annnnnnnnnnd… we say it on the show, but just in case you missed it, the Talking Comics crew on Twitter are:

Bobby: @bobbyshortle
Steve: @dead_anchoress
Stephanie: @hellocookie
And Bob’s email is bobreyer@talkingcomicbooks.com

FYI: the crew have gone all superhero on the world, thanks to the wonderful Hanie Mohd. Like them? Make sure to follow her and let us know what you think of our new superhero pictures.

The Comic Book Podcast is brought to you by Talking Comics (www.talkingcomicbooks.com), a blog dedicated to covering the latest and greatest in comic book releases. The editorial staff is composed of Editor-in-Chief Bobby Shortle (Fanboy Remix, Doctor Whocast), Stephanie Cooke (Misfortune Cookie) and Steve Seigh (JoBlo.com contributor) who weekly dissect the releases and give you, the consumer, a simple Roman yay or nay regarding them. Our Twitter handle is @TalkingComics and you can email us at info@talkingcomicbooks.com.

  1. Hey guys, great show as always.
And Bob, it was so much ‘screams from Belfast’ on hearing Marvel are canning Gambit so much as stunned silence propped up with a drowning of sorrows.
    Woe is me 🙁

    1. Patrick, I feel your pain!

Within just a short time, I’ve lost (or am about to lose!) a ton of favorites from my pull list:

CANCELLED: X-Factor; Dark Avengers; Red She-Hulk

ENDING: Steed & Mrs. Peel; It Girl & the Atomics; Masks

DROPPED: Batwoman; Supergirl; Winter Soldier; and after 50 years, Captain America

I think that someday soon I will move my comfiest chair into the converted bedroom I jokingly call “The Archives”, and just start reading Silver Age books until the wine runs out!

My condolences, and a toast raised to you and Remy!
      Bob
