See Fashion in Action Over on Kickstarter

Fashion in Action is a brand-new Kickstarter that launched on March 1. Well, the Kickstarter is brand-new but it features something from the past… that mystical time known as the 1980s.

Hope Nicholson -who has successfully run several Kickstarters for Nelvana of the Northern Lights, The Secret Loves of Geek Girls, Brok Windsor and more- is back at it to bring back John K Snyder III’s comic series Fashion in Action.

“It’s the year 2086, and the 2080s haven’t changed much from the 1980s – except of course for the jetpacks, Mars colonizations, and rocket-fueled cars. Frances Knight and her squad are “the world’s highest priced and best dressed celebrity protection agency.” They guard the world’s rich and beautiful and make their base in the refurbished Statue of Liberty.

Fashion In Action square off against the diabolical team of the coldly manipulative Dr. Cruel, and his accomplices, Boss One – a henchman just happy to be involved – and the violently unpredictable Roxanne, Frances Knights’ most psychotically devoted fan. Dr. Cruel plots to use the robot clone of a late night talk show host to turn the world’s elite into gorillas during a snuff star’s celebrity-filled wedding! Will they succeed? Will Frances defeat Roxanne? And will they look absolutely amazing doing so? Fund this project and find out!”

In addition to f*cking rad comic art, the book itself and PDFs, there are other really cool rewards you can get from supporting this Kickstarter including make-up MADE for SPECIFICALLY for this project. Like whaaaaaat. I know this obviously won’t appeal to everyone, but think on this for a second and recognize what a fantastic idea this is.

Hope only takes on the coolest projects for reprints (and in general) that she’s incredibly passionate about, so know that I say with 100% confidence that if she’s putting this out there, you’re going to want to pick it up.

Stephanie is [obviously] a comic book fan, but she also considers herself an avid gamer, movie watcher, lover of music, board games fan (although she doesn’t find nearly enough time for them…) and being snarky. Oh, and Twitter. Twitter’s a hobby, right?…

What's your reaction?
