Details on the Captain America 2 Video Game

Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier is less than two months away and where there is a new Marvel movie, tie-in products are soon to follow. One of the more popular tie-ins with recent Marvel films has been their video games from Activision. Due to poor sales and critical reception from their last few video games though, Activision and Marvel cut ties at the beginning of this year. With that deal now gone, Marvel has turned to mobile developer GameLoft to create new products, starting with the Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier Video Game.

The game will put players in control of Captain America as well as a team of SHIELD agents as they take on as-yet-to-be-announced bad guys. The game is set to follow the events of the film but players will be able to also “join clans in multiplayer mode and compete for a higher position in leagues.” As with other GameLoft titles, the game will be free-to-play but charge players in-game currency for goods in the game. Along with the announcement, a trailer has been released for the game. Check it out:

The game (and film) will be released April 4th.
