Kelly Sue DeConnick Curates Captain Marvel T-Shirt Collection for Charity

I love it when comics and charity come together and this is a wonderful combination.  Writer Kelly Sue DeConnick (Captain Marvel, Avengers Assemble) has teamed up with the for the fans and by the fans design company WeLoveFine to create a collection of t-shirts that showcase Marvel Comics superheroes such as Captain Marvel and Spider-Woman drawn in bright pop art designs as well as straight-from-the-pages artwork of two of Marvel’s favorite heroines. Each shirt costs $25 and is also available in men’s sizes. DeConnick donate her curating commission to the nonprofit organization, the Girls’ Leadership Institute, which seeks “to help foster and give voice to the heroines of tomorrow.”

On her blog, DeConnick said that the “Captain Marvel Rising Star” design seen at the bottom of this page is her favorite of the three shirts currently on offer, but there are at least two  more designs which have been submitted for approval which are also in her top three choices. Those designs will be made available depending on the success of the current products.

DeConnick is also known in the comics community for her great sense of style and she has bee posting examples of how women can modify the larger sized men t-shirts by cutting them up or altering in some way at home in order to make them look more feminine and a have a fiercer look. To take a look at these cool examples visit this page of her Tumblr and click forward for more recent posts.

This is a great opportunity to not only purchase some cool t-shirts but also to help a great cause.  You can take a look below at the current t-shirts that are available for purchase.
