Movie Trailer: Chronicle

Article by Steve Seigh

Making it’s debut this afternoon the trailer for the film Chronicle has captured the interest of comic book fans all across the internet. Chronicle is a film about three teens who suddenly find themselves developing remarkable abilities, which they then go on to abuse while capturing all the seemingly innocent mayhem on camera. With a script written by Max Landis (son of AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON director John Landis), and directed by BIG FAN editor Josh Trank, it looks as if we may have another comic book fantasy film on the way.

I’m personally in love with the trailer. Handled properly I think the particular “Found Footage” film style could truly work for something like this. The film appears to be playing things pretty straight and lets the audience know that this isn’t just going to be some sort of heroic romp, but perhaps a film with consequences. How would you react if one day you discovered you could move objects with your mind, or perhaps hear the thoughts of person for whom you are dating? The possibilities are endless. I’ll be keeping an eye on this one to see how it shapes up.

Enjoy the debut trailer below!
