Review: Green Arrow #1

GREEN ARROW #1

Written by J.T. Krul

Art by Dan Jurgens

Green Arrow is fun. There’s little social commentary to be had, and much of the plot feels like a retread of territory Iron Man and Batman Begins have already gone over, but regardless, these new adventures of Oliver Queen feel fun and fancy free. Three second or third tier villains team up and Ollie cleans them up fairly easily.

The art in the book isn’t progressing the comics industry any further either, but it does have a nice, retro feel. Green Arrow looks cool flipping around and his arrows are well animated, but to be honest, we’re not breaking down any barriers.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Any familiarity with the wealthy, powerless superhero type will suffice.

VERDICT

Buy it. – Not every book needs to be Watchmen… or Batman, for that matter. This is just good fun.
