Last time on the Walking Dead: Carl who managed to sneak into the Savior’s base by hiding in the supply truck from Alexandria, shoots six Saviors with Abraham’s rifle until he runs out of ammo. Negan takes him prisoner and makes Carl watch as Negan torture a Savior who had slept with one of Negan’s wives. Back at Alexandria, Jesus tells Rick’s group where Negan’s base is. And as Rick, Jesus, Andrea, and Michonne drive out to go rescue Carl, Negan’s truck intercepts them to tell them what he ultimately did with Carl….
If there’s one thing that fans know about Rick is you absolutely do not mess or threaten his son. Because if you do, well Rick goes insane in the membrane and starts to kick ass and that’s what happens in the first few pages. I won’t spoil anymore of the story for you but there is a twist that probably most of us didn’t see coming concerning Negan and how he deals with those who are under his thumb. Rick and co. continue to plan how they deal with Negan as well.
This issue struck me as slow and not much happened that was shocking or disturbing which came as sort of a surprise for me. I haven’t read all of the 107 issues of this series but I’m pretty familiar with what’s taken place. I did get a chuckle out of how many times the word “fuck” was used in Negan’s dialogue. I’m just getting impatient with how long it’s taking to give Negan his due.
Verdict:
Buy it, I mean it is The Walking Dead.
