It’s no secret amongst the nerds that Star Wars toys, while definitely awesome for kids, are much more desired by the grown-ups.
As soon as Star Wars toys get released, adults act like hoarders in a Fallout game and run to the nearest store to raid all the shelves. SNL is always pretty relevant to the times (duh) but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a skit that has nailed it quite like this one.
It’s probably even extra relevant since SNLer’s like Taran Killam are huge geeks too and they’ve probably already got their BB-88 spheros to play with and one packaged away for “safe keeping”.
