The Talking Comics gang are joined by a very special guest, Huw Parry (aka 50% of the Talking Comics news team). He’s in New York to attend NYCC and to spend some quality time with his jolly American chums and of course, to be on Talking Comics.

Trade waiting is part of the main discussion as is the cancellation of X-Factor (the Bob Reyer curse strikes again), Fantastic Four being cancelled and Spider-Man potentially coming to the Marvel movieverse.

Before all of that, there’s some serious talk about comics… obviously.

Lightning Round: Butterfly #1, Silver Surfer #6, Fantastic Four Annual #1, Lola XOXO #1, Rat Queens #8, The Names #2, Nailbiter #6, Figment #5, Winter Soldier, Justice League #34.

Books of the Week: The Rise of Aurora West, Captain America #25, Sing No Evil, Wytches #1, Thor #1, Gotham Academy #1.

* UPDATE: Steve sends his apologies for stating that JP Ahonen was responsible for the Amulet series, when in fact it was Kazu Kibuishi who created it. That’s what 3 hours of sleep and some Welsh whiskey will get you, we suppose.

The Comic Book Podcast is brought to you by Talking Comics (www.talkingcomicbooks.com), a blog dedicated to covering the latest and greatest in comic book releases. The editorial staff is composed of Editor-in-Chief Bobby Shortle (Fanboy Remix, Doctor Whocast), Stephanie Cooke (Misfortune Cookie) and Steve Seigh (JoBlo.com contributor) who weekly dissect the releases and give you, the consumer, a simple Roman yay or nay regarding them. Our Twitter handle is @TalkingComics and you can email us at info@talkingcomicbooks.com.

Stephanie is [obviously] a comic book fan, but she also considers herself an avid gamer, movie watcher, lover of music, board games fan (although she doesn’t find nearly enough time for them…) and being snarky. Oh, and Twitter. Twitter’s a hobby, right?…

What's your reaction?
