Empowered: Soldier of Love #1 – Adam Warren & Karla Diaz
- It’s been a while since we’ve visited with Emp and Ninjette, and some strange things seem to be happening due to a visit by an embittered “International Magical Girl of Mystery”! As with all the Empowered off-shoots, I’m intrigued to see how the guest artists handle the characters, and based on the samples I’ve seen, Karla Diaz crafted something…magical.– Bob

All-Star Batman #7 – Scott Snyder & Tula Lotay
- I know this hasn’t been a favorite Batman book for too many people, but I love the stories that Snyder still has left. He’s doing a lot of interesting collaborations on the art side as well so I look forward to seeing what comes of this issue. – Deanna
Batgirl and the Birds of Prey #7 – Julie Benson, Shawna Benson & Claire Roe
Deathstroke #12 – Christopher Priest & Joe Bennett, Mark Morales
Detective Comics #950 – James Tynion IV & Marcio Takara
- While I greatly enjoyed the brief “Batwoman Begins” interlude of the last two issues, I’m excited to return to the series proper considering where we left off prior. It seems like the team may be disbanded (or at least splintered) and with a new threat on the horizon–The League of Shadows–I’ll be curious to see how this new arc plays out. -John D.
- I’m basically all in on the Batman books that are ongoing right now. And like John, I’m looking forward to how the League of Shadows story will turn out. – Deanna
- I’m hoping that the dynamic doesn’t get changed too drastically, as the interaction between these disparate characters, and particularly Kate and Bruce, has been my favorite thing about this series.–Bob
Hal Jordan & The Green Lantern Corps #14 – Robert Venditti & Rafael Sandoval, Jordi Tarragona
- I read the four one-shots leading up to this series, so I’m going to at least give this issue a shot to see if it’s something I’d like to follow along with. It amazes me how many books DC can fit Batman into, though. – Deanna
Suicide Squad #11 – Rob Williams & Eddy Barrows, Eber Ferreira, Richard Friend Superwoman #7 – Phil Jimenez
Titans #8 – Dan Abnett & Brett Booth, Norm Rapmund
- Titans is the secret best team book DC is putting out right now, everyone. Although the last issue was technically the beginning of the new arc, this one is the official start of the Titans’ move to Manhattan, so it should provide a decent jumping on point for new readers. But let me tell you: Titans has been worth it every month so if you can go back and pick up the previous seven issues, do it. Especially if you’re a fan of the old fun loving DCU. -John D.
- This series has been one of the top ones for me. While I’ve been enjoying a lot of them and it wasn’t quite in my top tier when I ranked the Rebirth books, the art and story have both been fantastic. Definitely check this one out. – Deanna
- While losing Nicola Scott is going to be tough, having become a fan of Ms. Bilquis Evely through her work at Dynamite on Doc Savage and Shaft (not to mention her fabulous work on the #8 “Cheetah” issue of this series!), I have great confidence that you’ll all be fans soon as well!–Bob

Green Valley #5 – Max Landis and Giuseppe Camuncoli
- After Superman: American Alien I have come to trust Landis as a comic book writer and Green Valley has been a odd but awesome ride. This issue promises knights vs velociraptors, what more do I need to say. Lorna.
Motorcrush #3 – Babs Tarr, Cameron Stewart & Brenden Fletcher
- I’ve really enjoyed the first two issues. It’s been grittier and more adult than I had anticipated, since this is the same team that previously worked on The Batgirl of Burnside. I appreciate the subtle commentary on celebrity culture and paparazzi, not to mention the artwork and developing story. -Max
Moonshine #5 – Brian Azzarello & Eduardo Risso
- This is one of the more unique series that I’m currently reading. Azzarello really has the voice of the time period nailed down, and Risso’s art lends itself to sly fun and violence. I’m hoping the creative team soon sinks its claws deeper into the werewolf aspect of the story. Hopefully that’s somewhere in the meat of this issue. -Max
