#####
BLACK MASK STUDIOS
The Skeptics #1 – Tini Howard & Devaki Neogi
- If you’re SKEPTICAL of The Skeptics, then you definitely haven’t been reading Black Mask Studios for the last few months. Between Kim & Kim and 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank, I’d say anything Black Mask puts out on the stands is worth checking out at least for a first issue. I know I’ll be picking this up! – Joey
BOOM! STUDIOS
Giant Days HOLIDAY SPECIAL – John Allison & Max Sarin & Lissa Treiman
Abigail and the Snowman – Roger Landridge
DARK HORSE COMICS
Call of Duty ZOMBIES #1 – Justin Jordan & Jonathan Wayshak
Serenity: No Power in the Verse #1 – Kris Roberson & Karl Story
- Well by my pretty floral bonnet… SERENITY!? I’m in. – Joey
DC COMICS
Batman Beyond #1 – Dan Jurgens & Bernard Cheng
Batgirl #4 – Hope Larson & Rafael Albuquerque
- As much as I want to see Babs make her return to Burnside (which we know happens thanks to Batgirl and the Birds of Prey), I’ve been really digging her globe-trotting adventures as written by Hope Larson. Barbara’s MMA training has been an interesting and fun ride thus far, and while I’m not totally on board with all aspects of this run (okay, just mainly Kai), I’m absolutely in love with Rafael Albquerque’s art and love what he’s been putting out in this book every month. –John D.
Detective Comics #943 – James Tynion IV and Alvaro Martinez & Raul Fernandez
- Just as with last week’s Nightwing #7, this week marks the return of Detective Comics to its regularly scheduled programming, and I couldn’t be more excited to see where this series heads with its new storyline. James Tynion has made this the best Bat-book on the stands and I expect that he’ll continue to do so as “The Victim Syndicate” begins here. –John D.
- I agree with John about this being the best Bat-book out right now. I’m looking forward to seeing how Tynion and team do in their second arc. – Vivek
- I’ve been enjoying the majority of the Bat family books, but this one is easily at the top of the list. The creative team has done a great job and Tynion mentioned on Twitter that he has enough stories to get this run to issue 1000. That excites me and I look forward to what comes next with this series. – Deanna
Flash #9 – Joshua Williamson & Neil Googe
Teen Titans #1 – Ben Percy & Jonboy Meyers
- I really enjoyed the Teen Titans Rebirth, so I am definitely giving this issue a chance no matter what. – Kelsey
- I’m looking forward to where they take this one with Damien as the leader. I’m also interested in finding out more about some of these characters since I’m not completely familiar with all of them. – Deanna
Wonder Woman 75th Anniversary – Various
Vigilante Southland #1 – Gary Phillips & Elena Casagrande
IDW PUBLISHING
Action Man: Revolution #1 – John Barber & Paolo Villanelli
Disney’s GIANT HALLOWEEN HEX #1 – Francesco Artibani, Thad Komorowski & Giorgio Cavazzano
IMAGE COMICS
Saga #39 – Brian K. Vaughan & Fiona Staples
- Saga is still amazing and we need to keep talking about it. Every week that it comes out, it’s the first thing that I read. – Jesse
MARVEL COMICS
Civil War II #6 – Brian Michael Bendis & David Marquez
Doctor Strange: Mystic Apprentice #1 – Will Corona Pilgrim & Andrea Di Vito
Doctor Strange: Sorcerers Supreme #1 – Robbie Thompson & Javier Rodriguez
Prowler #1 – Sean Ryan & Jamal Campbell
- This issue will be part of The Clone Conspiracy event and after reading Dead No More, I’m definitely going to check it out. – Deanna
Ms. Marvel #12 – G Willow WIlson & Mirka Andolfo
Nighthawk #6 – David Walker & Ramon Villalobos
- This gritty, socially-conscious, vigilante series set in Chicago ends too soon in this issue. Can’t wait to see how.- Vivek
The Vision #12 – Tom King & Gabriel Hernandez Walta
- King, Walta, and Bellaire have put together a really special take on The Vision and his family in this series. This week the emotional, deep, funny, and horrifying ride reaches its last stop. – Vivek
- I challenge anyone to read this series and say that its not the best thing Marvel has published this year. This week’s issue is the last of this incredible Tom King story and I can’t wait to read it. – Jesse
VALIANT COMICS
Bloodshot USA #1 – Jeff Lemire & Doug Braithwaite
