Kids Share Their Thoughts On The Force Awakens (SPOILERS AHEAD)
EDITOR’S NOTE: Stephanie here! I put out a call on my personal Facebook page and asked friends if they knew anyone or had kids that might be interested in submitting their thoughts on The Force Awakens. I wanted to know how the film held up in the mind of a child vs us adult-like folk who may or may not have been crazed Star Wars fans before seeing the film.
My pal and former JoBlo cohort, Jaci Selby offered up her children, Piper and Griffin, as tribute. I’ve been internet friends with Jaci for a few years now and have religiously followed the stories that she’s shared about her children. They are nothing short of hilariously brilliant. For those of you familiar with Kelly Sue DeConnick and the stories she shares about Tallulah and Henry Leo, Jaci’s stories are on par with that. These kids have a TON of character so I was thrilled that she agreed to ask them a few questions about the film for me.
Jaci is understandably busy as heck and her kids are, well, kids so she only had time for a few questions but these are the questions she had for them and how they responded.
…SPOILERS AHEAD…
A Summary of the Film
Piper: It’s a BB-8 and Poe tries to take care of him but him gets lost and that part is so sad and I almost cried but I didn’t. Okay? I didn’t cry. And then BB-8 him gives a thumbs up. And Rey? Rey saves him. And the force AWAAAAKENSSS even without yoda. BB-8 saves all the people. That’s really true.
Griffin: They have to find this map so they can find Luke to make the next generation of Jedi. Like Professor Farnsworth. But the first order wants to get there first.
Favourite Part
Piper: Him times when BB-8 puts the thumbs up!! I said that. But my favorite part of the Elves and the Shoemakers is when the penguin chases the guy.
Griffin: Also the BB-8 lighter thumbs-up scene.
Favourite Character
Piper: Hanzilla and Chewbacca and YODA WASN’T IN IT!!! Wait why wasn’t Yoda in it???
Griffin: It’s like 30 years later, he’s dead
Piper: No him’s not. Him’s a Jedi and they has the force and he’s DEADLESS. Him’s in the movies!
Griffin: He’s old! You watch too much Clone Wars!
*screaming*
EDITOR’S NOTE: Jaci (mom to Piper and Griffin is from Americaland and wrote “favorite” for everything like a good American lady, but because I’m Canadian and can’t deal with the lack of the letter “u”, I went and changed them all… ACK)
