Dear Shenani-Girl: The Sky Is Falling

It’s the holiday season and as it turns out, Shenani-Girl has a little bit of time on her hands to answer your questions. Whether they’re about comics, life, movies, various geekery or other things, get your questions into Shenanigans for a brand-new Dear Abby style column that’ll be up as frequently as our podcasting superhero can handle. You can send in your questions to stephaniecooke@talkingcomicbooks.com or via Shenani-Girl’s Tumblr page (all responses from Tumblr will be posted on the site).

Dear Shenani-Girl,

One of my best friends hated Skyfall, but I sort of liked it. Settle the matter please.

Dear Chicken Little Was Right,

Your friend is wrong. Skyfall was effing EPIC.

I’m a little concerned that you said that you only “sort of liked it” due to the fact that it needs to be most definitely liked and/or loved, but it’s better than hating it, so we’ll just focus on that for now.

  1. Daniel Craig is probably the best James Bond to date (if they were to replace him in the near future, I believe Idris Elba could be a very interesting Bond…).
  2. Ben Whishaw as Q was a brilliant casting choice.
  3. Javier Bardem should play villains always and every time that he plays a villain, he should win every Academy Award ever. EVER.
    ****MILD SPOILERS****
I mean that scene where he’s playing with Bond saying the first person to shoot the shot glass off Sévérine’s head, wins… Oh man. So dark and yet so incredibly badass.
    ****END SPOILERS****
  4. JUDI DENCH
  5. I have other reasons but mostly it was amazing because IT JUST WAS.

So in conclusion…
Friend: learn to love Skyfall ASAP. It’s actually written in the friend code of conduct.
Seriously, I’ll have my assistant forward you a copy.

PS – The theme song by Adele is STILL stuck in my head. And I LIKE it.

You can read all about Shenani-Girl and our other podcasting superheroes over on the Talking Comics Top Secret Database.

Stephanie is [obviously] a comic book fan, but she also considers herself an avid gamer, movie watcher, lover of music, board games fan (although she doesn’t find nearly enough time for them…) and being snarky. Oh, and Twitter. Twitter’s a hobby, right?…

What's your reaction?
