Briggs Land #4 – Brian Wood & Mack Chater
- First of all — just look at the cover. It leaves one hell of an impression. This is one of my favorite ongoing series. The subdued color scheme really suits the desperate story. This is a politically and socially pertinent work, and it’s not too late to catch up! – Max
Lady Killer 2 #3- Joelle Jones 
- If you haven’t been checking out what Ms. Jones has been setting to paper, you’re missing out on a great ride! As the latest cover and solicitation seems to suggest that Josie Schuller may have gotten in over her head with her latest shenanigans, you need to play catch-up…and quickly!–Bob

Doctor Fate #18 (Final issue) – Paul Levitz & Brendan McCarthy
Nightwing #9 – Tim Seeley & Marcio Takara
Superman #11 – Peter J. Tomasi & Patrick Gleason
- More Jon and Damian? More Clark and Bruce? No need to sell me any further, just give me more of my favorite ongoing series. – Max
- I can’t believe how much I am loving this series. Until very recently, Superman had never really appealed to me. The character’s incredibly long history made him unapproachable. But this series was a great place to start. – Jesse
Trinity #3 – Francis Manapul & Clay Mann
- Francis Manapul takes a step back from doing both writing and art, bringing in Clay Mann for this issue. Im curious where the art direction goes, but the story has me hooked. Manapul fanboy I am. Side note: I wish these covers, both original and variant, would stop being so amazing! 2x the issues every month is adding up! – Miguel
- I’m also curious about what the art will look like here. Thus far, I’ve been a bigger fan of Manapul’s storytelling than his art style, so I’m not turned off by this change. I’m excited to see what sort of shenanigans Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman find themselves in. – Max

GI Joe REVOLUTION #1 – Aubrey Sitterson & Giannis Milonogiannis
Yakuza Demon Killers #1 – Amit Chauhan & Eli Powell
- It’ll be interesting to see if this series is about the Yakuza or magic, or if it’s able to strike a nice balance. I enjoy comics that engage in very specific elements of cultures, so I’m easily on board to give this a shot. I’m unfamiliar with this creative team, so I’ll be flying blind, so to speak. – Max

Peter Panzerfaust #24 – Kurtis J. Wiebe & Tyler Jenkins (Series Return) 
Hadrian’s Wall #3 – Kyle Higgins & Rod Reis
- This has been a storytelling and artistic joy so far. Bring on the next chapter! – Max
- Image comics has returned to form with this amazing new series. The first 2 issues have done an incredible job creating tension and blending genres. I can’t wait to see what happens in issue 3. – Jesse
Moonshine #2 – Brian Azzarello & Eduardo Risso
- This is such a cool concept. Another gem in a sea of great covers this week, as well. – Max
Reborn #2 – Mark Millar & Greg Capullo
- Capullo pulled out all the stops in the artwork for issue #1. Judging by his social media posts, we’ve only just begun. Jump on this now! – Miguel
MARVEL COMICS
Uncanny X-Men Annual – Cullen Bunn & Anthony Piper & Ken Lashley
All-New Wolverine #14 – Tom Taylor & Nik Virella
Every issue of this series has exceeded my expectations. Tom Taylor has struck the perfect combination of humor and heart, something I wouldn’t have thought possible with a Wolverine series. One things for sure, I hope to keep Laura in the yellow & blue as long as possible – Jesse
