ACTION LAB
- I really enjoy Tomboy from Action Lab, so I looked into this Kickstarter comic. When I read the preview it reminded me of some of the comics I bought from a corner shop as a kid. So I’m intrigued and who doesn’t like dinosaurs! –Lorna

- WHAT!?? All three of these awesome, witty, refreshing comics have new issues on the same day!!! Good Gods, Black Mask, take my money!!! For real though, all three books tell distinct, vibrant stories with diverse, dynamic ensemble casts. Pick up one, pick up two, pick up three–just read something from this list!!! – Joey

- Americatown imagines a future in which people flee the terrible economic conditions of the United States to become undocumented immigrants in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This hardcover collects the bold, suspenseful, and moving 4-issue series into one book. – Vivek
- What a great, relevant premise. I imagine that it’ll serve as a mirror of reality, and perhaps, as a mirror to hold up to ourselves. Can’t wait to give this a try. -Max

- Bennett has quickly become one of those writers but I can’t help but read everything she does. Bombshells has been a very charming title from the jump, and I would like her DC to hand her the reigns to the Justice League. Someone help me start that campaign! – Nathan
- After hearing the crew wax poetic about Marguerite Bennett on the podcast for some time now, I’m excited to read her work firsthand. I might jump aboard Nathan’s Justice League train after reading this. -Max

Gotham Academy ANNUAL – By Becky Cloonan & Brenden Fletcher and Christian Wildgoose, Michael Dialynas & Adam Archer
Legend of Wonder Woman #9 (of 9) – By Renae De Liz
- This fine series has lately fallen a bit under the radar due to the “Rebirth-ed” main-line Wonder Woman series, but it stands as a great addition to Amazon history, and I much look forward to reading this conclusion to the first arc!–Bob
Suicide Squad: War Crimes – Special – By John Ostrander & Gus Vasquez
- Any time a fourth Wednesday rolls around, DC usually uses that time to toss out a slew of annuals for their ongoing titles, but considering most of their Rebirth books haven’t even hit the end of their first arcs yet, it’s a pretty desertous week for the company. That being said, the title that stands out to me this week is the Suicide Squad: War Crimes one-shot. It’s being written by John Ostrander, the guy who created our loveable Squad in the first place. As far as I’m aware this has no ties to the recently relaunched series of the same name, but it’s still worth checking out if only to see how Ostrander handles the team in 2016. -John D.
- I’ll just add to what John said that the plot that’s been teased for this one has a lot of potential: the Squad needs to recover a former Sec. of Defense who is being tried for war crimes in an allied nation. I’m hoping that Ostrander and artist Gus Vasquez will make the 48 pages of story worthy of it’s $4.99 price. – Vivek

Jim Thompson’s The Killer Inside Me #1 – By Devin Faraci & Vic Malhotra
TMNT Universe #1 – By Paul Allor & Damian Couceiro
- It’ll come as no surprise to anyone, given how big a fan I am of the main TMNT book, that I’m rather excited for this title. This looks like it’ll be adding an extra layer of stories to the TMNT lore within IDW and with a bonus back up story from Kevin Eastman I’m hoping for another book full of action, lots of heart, family drama and a few laughs thrown in. Especially with this being a light week for me.. However, I’m calling out IDW for the price point on this issue, $4.99 is not cool! – Huw
X-Files Origins #1 – By Jody Houser & Chris Fenoglio

- Saga is back! Attention: Saga is back! It’s always a big deal when this book returns from its seems-way-too-long-but-actually-isn’t-that-long hiatus, and this time should be no different. There’s really nothing else to say here except if you’re reading Saga, it’s time to return to this wonderful book once again. -John D.
Tokyo Ghost #10 – By Rick Remender & Sean Gordon Murphy
MARVEL COMICS
All-New Wolverine ANNUAL
- All-New Wolverine has been a stellar title from Tom Taylor, so I’m excited to see what kind of amazing stories are going to be told in this Annual. I do know that Spider-Gwen will be teaming up with Laura in what should be a joyous good time, and the solicits claim there’s a Jonathan the Wolverine story as well. Done. Sign me up. -John D.
- The bigger conflict of Civil War II has come to Ms. Marvel’s hometown of Jersey City and she’s right in the middle of it, forced to recon with what it means to round-up and detain people based on a new form of criminal profiling. This premise + the cliffhanger at the end of issue #9 + the slowly stewing doubts that Kamala has about her role-model, Captain Marvel = an issue I can’t wait to get my hands on. – Vivek
Silver Surfer #6 – By Dan Slott & Michael Allred (Special Oversized 200th Issue)
- Coming off the heels of his 50th Anniversary spectacular, the Silver Surfer hits another milestone this week with his 200th issue. If you haven’t been reading this series up until this point I’ll be as vague as possible but there’s been some major status quo shakeup in the book lately, and I’m excited to see what that means for our main characters moving forward. Dawn Greenwood has a lot on her plate right now, so how she handles everything that’s been thrown in front of her as of recent events (still being vague!) should be as entertaining, bombastic, and potentially heartbreaking as this series can be. -John D.
- Could Marvel please give the Slott/Allreds team the chance to do a Fantastic Four series?–Bob
- Last issue was a high point for the series so far, as Miles started to grapple with how to make sense of Civil War II in conversations with Tony Stark and his dad, and his secret identity can’t seem to catch a break, with a certain Marvel P.I. on the case. Bendis and company have been doing an excellent job with this character: I expect that to continue. – Vivek
- As Vivek alluded to, the last issue of this title was comfortably one of the best. Presenting some serious moral struggles for Miles and plenty of drama with the aforementioned P.I. getting worryingly close to home for our hero. I’ve found this series to be a little hit and miss so far and I’m hoping this issue carries the good form of #6 – Huw
