Legendary Runs Episode 16: Alan Moore’s Miracleman (The Original Writer’s Miracleman)

Holy macaroni, this is a crazy episode of Legendary Runs! Matt and Mara sit down to talk about the game-changing story, and the even more insane ownership woes of Miracleman (Marvelman if you’re nasty). This comic was post modern before postmodern comics were cool. It touches on the idea of what if a god-like being lived among us; a theme that would explore numerous times through Alan Moore’s career. Would he be on our side, would he make our decisions for us, would his interest out weight our free will? These are all questions that seem cliche in a world that has read Watchmen, Dark Knight Rises, The Mighty, but Miracleman predates them all. It’s a heavy series that is worthy of a length longer than our usual episodes. It’s a solid discussion though, and one that I hope you enjoy. Kimota!
