Archie #8 – By Mark Waid & Veronica Fish
- It’s a tale as old as time, Archie and Reggie love Veronica and Veronica loves Archie – now that Reggie’s voluntarily out of the picture (for now) true love can finally prevail… right? Unfortunately for Archie, Mr. Lodge does not think so. To make matters worse, he’s running for mayor of Riverdale! And what’s with Betty’s new beau? Issue #8 opens a new arc within this series that I am extremely looking forward too! – Kelsey

Batman #52 – By James Tynion IV & Riley Rossmo
- It feels rather odd having another issue of Batman left after Snyder & Capullo’s swan song last month. James Tynion is a writer who I’ll gladly read anything he touches and his work on Batman previously has been great. I can’t think of anyone more deserving to rounded one of the greatest volumes of a comic in recent history. No doubt this’ll be a good read! – Huw
- The way I see it, Batman #52 is less an end to the New 52 Batman and more the beginning for writer James Tynion to properly take the reigns inside the Batman universe. His upcoming gig on Detective Comics has me excited, so I’m checking his issue of Batman out purely to see if any groundwork will be laid for his work to come. Speaking of talent related to the upcoming new Bat-universe in DC, Riley Rossmo will be providing the art for this issue before moving on to Batgirl. While we all know what he can do already, I can’t think of a better artist to take this title to its endgame (see what I did there) in Capullo’s absence than Rossmo.-John D.
Starfire #12 – By Jimmy Palmiotti & Amanda Conner
- Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner bring the Starfire series to an end this week with issue #12. A happy ending to an equally happy adventure, Kori surrounds herself with her friends and loved ones to say goodbye to Key West. I am saddened to even think about Starfire ending this week. I was excited to see this character get her own series that did not tie her to the Teen Titans or The Outlaws. For me, it was exciting to see Kori in a new light – I loved that her innocence shined through with her little thought bubbles. Disappointed to see her leave (as well as the two creators together), but excited for what opportunities lie for Starfire ahead! – Kelsey

Rocketeer at War #3 – By Marc Guggenheim & Dave Bullock
- While nothing will ever come close to the original Rocketeer of Dave Stevens, IDW has done a great job over the last few years of continuing his legacy. This latest mini by Marc Guggenheim and Dave Bullock has been a fun, retro-romp as Cliff plies his talents during the Second World War, and this latest issue promises to be thrill-packed!-Bob
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #58 – By Tom Waltz, Mateus Santolouco, & Dave Wachter
- The last issue ended on a great cliffhanger with the proverbial poop about to hit the air movement device at serious speed. This is set to be an action packed issue and when this book does action, it does it so so well. As far as comics that progress the story and do new and fresh things with a well established property, this is one of the best out there. – Huw

FIX #2 – By Nick Spencer & Steve Lieber
- If the second issue of this comic is as funny at the first, I’m in. What is it about Nick Spencer that the man know how to write such lovable scumbags? Anyway, I’m looking forward to more uncomfortable humor and shameless antics from our two anti-heroes this issue. – Steve
GRIZZLY SHARK #2 – By Ryan Ottley
- On Steve’s recommendation, I picked up Grizzly Shark #1 and laughed and laughed and laughed. A premise literally founded in the “Hey, what would happen if…” vein, Grizzly Shark is the tiny slice of absurdity and light-hearted gore you didn’t know you needed. Where will the Grizzly Shark strike next???!?!??!?!? Probably the woods!!! – Joey
- Awwww yeah! This is without a doubt my most anticipated book of this week. The first issue was positively hysterical and maybe one of the best comic book surprises of this year, so far. Do I smell a nomination for best limited series? We’ll just have to wait and see. – Steve
MARVEL COMICS
Black Panther #2 – By Ta-Nehisi Coates & Brian Stelfreeze
- I’ll openly admit to feeling rather lost after the first issue of this run. There felt like there was a lot of history behind it and a depth that was rather intimidating to new readers. That being said, it was incredibly well written, the dialogue had a weight and gravitas to it that showed that this could turn into something special. On top of that, the art and colours were absolutely gorgeous! I’m excited for this issue, I want to learn more about Black Panther and be along for the ride whilst supporting what I think is a really important title. – Huw
- Call it residual excitement from Civil War, but I’m looking to get my paws (I’m really not trying to do this, I swear) on more stories involving Black Panther. The first issue of this new run from writer Ta-Nehisi Coates left me equal parts intrigued and confused, but enough of the former for me to continue to pick this title up in hopes that it explores more of Black Panther and his role as a leader facing a rebellion within his own country. – John D.
- More than any other Marvel book on the stands right now, I’m curious to see how this series pans out. I often appreciate books that attempt a different approach to comic-related storytelling, and it probably helps that I’m fresh off of loving Black Panther’s appearance in Captain America: Civil War. – Steve

Attack on Titan: Chapter #81 (Kodansha Comics)
- What times we live in! Attack on Titan and 17 other Kodansha Manga titles are now simul-published on Comixology when they’re released in Japan. Right now, Eren and the gang are in the midst of a huge battle that could well turn the tide in their favou against r. With a crazy, giant ape-like Titan appearing to have the rest of the Titans under his control, things look bleak. It has all the hallmarks of an all-or-nothing fight and the action at the moment is off the charts! – Huw
