Favorite Comic Book Covers of the Week 05/25/15
Hey, thanks for checking out Talking Comics: Favorite Comic Book Covers of the Week!
You’ve got to admit, New Comic Book Release Day is pretty much the best day of the week. It’s the day we’re introduced to new worlds, are able to witness the next chapter in a continuing saga, or fall in love with a character or creator for the first time. I could go on and on, but I think you’ve already gotten my point. That point being … comics are awesome. So awesome in fact that even the covers of them are often times incredible works of art. We’re here to show you some of our favorite covers each week! So go ahead and take a few moments for yourself (haven’t you earned it?) and feast your eyes on some truly inspired comic book covers!

Weirdworld #6

Art and Cover by Mike Del Mundo
Ughhhhhhhh! Why, why, WHY am I not reading this series? Well, the answer is money, but I’m going to need to figure out a way around that. Anyway, look at how beautiful this color is! I love the hot blue against the canary yellow backdrop. That’s right, I said canary yellow. We’re getting specific up in here!
Scooby Apocalypse #1
Written by Jim Lee – Keith Griffin – J.M. Dematteis
Art by Howard Porter
Cover by Ben Caldwell Velma Cover
You might not know this about me, but I kind of have a thing for Velma of Scooby-Doo. Okay, so I totally have a thing for her. What? Wanna fight about it? I like smart women, okay? Geez!

SECRET SIX #14 (DC)
Writer: Gail Simone
Artist: Tom Derenick
Cover: Dale Eaglesham
As with Starfire, I’m pretty sure that this last issue of the charmingly quirky Gail Simone. Dale Eaglesham series will be about family and the “families we choose”, or at least that’s what I’m getting from this cover!
FEAR & LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS #1 (IDW)

With this cover that’s equal parts Picasso and Bill Sienkiewicz, Jim Mahfood has certainly captured that certain off-center something you want to see from this title!
MOON GIRL & DEVIL DINOSAUR #7 (Marvel)

Amy Reeder delivers another fun and fabulous cover for this wonderful all-ages series that she and her partners-in-art Mr. Montcalre and Ms. Bustos have graced us with each month.
PATSY WALKER, a.k.a. HELLCAT (Marvel)

She-Hulk as Queen of the Mermaids at the Coney Island Parade? Looks like fun to me!
