Favorite Comic Book Covers of the Week 02/10/16
Hey, thanks for checking out Talking Comics: Favorite Comic Book Covers of the Week!
You’ve got to admit, New Comic Book Release Day is pretty much the best day of the week. It’s the day we’re introduced to new worlds, are able to witness the next chapter in a continuing saga, or fall in love with a character or creator for the first time. I could go on and on, but I think you’ve already gotten my point. That point being … comics are awesome. So awesome in fact that even the covers of them are often times incredible works of art. We’re here to show you some of our favorite covers each week! So go ahead and take a few moments for yourself (haven’t you earned it?) and feast your eyes on some truly inspired comic book covers!

Harrow County #9
Written by Cullen Bunn
Art and Cover by Tyler Crook
There’s no denying that Harrow Country has given us some of the creepiest comic book covers of the past few years, and this issue is no exception. Seriously, if you saw that thing creeping out of a tree in the woods behind your house, you’d be packing your bags and heading for the hills real quick!
Injection #7
Written by Warren Ellis
Art by Declan Shalvey – Jordie Bellaire
Cover by Declan Shalvey and Jordie Bellaire
Another wonderful cover for the Injection series! I really enjoy the branches digging down to our man at the bottom right-hand corner. I also really like the black on orange color arrangement.
Low #11
Written by Rick Remender
Art and Cover by Greg Tocchini – Dave McCraig
Cover by Greg Tocchini
Both of the following covers could be my favorites yet for this series. The first one reminds me of the “helping hands” from Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, and the one on the bottom looks as if a dismantled Baymax is in love with our purple girl, here. Exquisite, gorgeous!
There’s also this sweet variant cover, also from Greg Tocchini …
Silk #4
Written by Robbie Thompson
Art by Stacey Lee
Cover Art by Helen Chen
Sometimes a simple and bad-ass pose is all you need! Couple that with a pleasant blue against yellow back-drop and you’ve got a kick-ass cover for Silk!
Ultimates #4
Written by Al Ewing
Art and Cover by Kenneth Rocafort
Whoaaaaaaaaa! Nope, nope, nope, nope, NOPE!
I’ve been very much enjoying Mr. Rocafort’s art on this series, and this image has me more-than-ready to see what’s behind this striking cover!” Bob Reyer
Weirdworld #3
Written by Sam Humphries
Art and Cover by Mark Del Mundo
Mike Del Mundo, once again, killing it in the cover department. I can’t get enough of this man’s artwork. He’s had my full attention since the days of X-Men Legacy and damn if he doesn’t get better as the years press on!

ZODIAC STARFORCE #4 (Dark Horse)
Writer: Kevin Panetta
Artist: Paulina Ganucheau
Cover: Babs Tarr
Beyond the Silver Age vibe of this cover, I love the attitude that Babs Tarr has given to these ladies!
LEGEND OF WONDER WOMAN #2 (DC)
Writer/Artist/Cover: Renae De Liz
I’ve not anything to say but “Lovely!”
BATMAN: HARLEY & IVY HC (DC)
Writer: Paul Dini, Various
Artist: Bruce Timm; Various
Cover: Bruce Timm
With all the versions that are around, this is the one that comes first to mind when I hear the name “Harley Quinn”, and I always hear the delightful voice of Arleen Sorkin, too!
JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA: THE SILVER AGE vol. 1 (DC)
Writer: Gardner Fox
Artist/Cover: Mike Sekowsky
This is the cover for the book that introduced the JLA, and it’s been “homaged” a number of times since (and even made into a statue!) but none top this Mike Sekwosky original! (Below are some other takes!)
SPIDER-GWEN #5 (Marvel)
Writer: Jason Latour
Artist/Cover: Robbi Rodriguez
