Favorite Comic Book Covers of the Week 01/20/16
Hey, thanks for checking out Talking Comics: Favorite Comic Book Covers of the Week!
You’ve got to admit, New Comic Book Release Day is pretty much the best day of the week. It’s the day we’re introduced to new worlds, are able to witness the next chapter in a continuing saga, or fall in love with a character or creator for the first time. I could go on and on, but I think you’ve already gotten my point. That point being … comics are awesome. So awesome in fact that even the covers of them are often times incredible works of art. We’re here to show you some of our favorite covers each week! So go ahead and take a few moments for yourself (haven’t you earned it?) and feast your eyes on some truly inspired comic book covers!

Silver Surfer #1

I love the depiction of glee on this cover. The thought of surfing the cosmos with Norrin Radd would certainly put a smile on my face. Also, check out the colors of that wave! Gorgeous!
Phonogram: The Immaterial Girl #6

There’s something about a gaping hole in the night sky that intrigues me. There’s no telling what awaits on the other side.
I Hate Fairyland #4
Words, Art, and Cover by Skottie Young
Oh Prince Charming, it looks as if you’ve got more than you bargained for in your quest for the wearer of that glass slipper. See you in the funny papers, chump!
Eve Valkyrie #4

Sometimes simple and sleek is all you need to create a beautiful cover such as this.
Buffy the Vanpire Slayer Season 10 #23
Written by Christos N. Gage

I’ll be honest, I’m not so much digging the reflection in the axe as much as I love this rendition of Sunnydale’s best and brightest slayer. I love the soft color pallete and smooth oil work.
