After going through the huge mind fuck that the Joker brought upon the Bat family, you would think that Batgirl would get some much deserved rest, but that isn’t the case.  There ain’t no rest for the wicked as James Gordon, Barbara’s brother steps out with his fiery and maniacal plans on the streets of Gotham.  Needless to say there’s going to be another family reunion in Batgirl’s future, the question is will she be able to escape the wave of flames that are thrown her way.

Due to the strange tale of Gail Simone being fired and then rehired, Ray Fawkes is on the case of Gotham’s lady bat, and he stays the course.  The way he gets into the head of James is done well. The artwork is also amazing. I’m loving all of the flames and I think it’s ironic that Barbara and her Bat family escaped being burned to death by the Joker and has to deal with fire again.

It’s a good read and I can’t wait to see what happens next especially when Simone retakes control of Batgirl’s ship.

Verdict:

Buy it.  Batgirl kicks some ass and faces two foes-one familiar the other new. What more can you ask for?

What's your reaction?
