Well my first answer to my own question about which villain I'd like to see as a hero was Doctor Doom, though Hickman kind of just did that in his recent Fantastic Four run. My other answer would be Lex Luthor, especially after playing the Injustice: Gods Among Us game. I just hate to leave any universe without an incredibly smart villain because I think they are some of the best adversaries in comics.

What about Bane? I think the idea of a luchador crime-fighter could be pretty great. Maybe during the day he wrestles and at night he injects himself with serum to fight crime as a hulked-out beast? Outside of Marvel/DC, I was also thinking any of the Saga "villains" would make great anti-heroes (Prince Robot IV, The Will), though you could argue that there aren't really any villains in Saga since they all have good reasons to do what they're doing.

On the subject of DC VS Marvel games, I think part of the problem with Marvel now is that they're beholden to their movie properties so much that most of what we get from them are tie-in games to the movies or games aimed at kids. I think LEGO Marvel could be great though. However, DC hasn't exactly been batting 1000%. Taking away the Arkham games, all they really have recently is Injustice and LEGO Batman. Their MMO didn't exactly set the world on fire and their Green Lantern movie tie-in game was reviewed terribly. They also haven't had a good Superman game since what, ever?

Nice! I haven't read the book since that Heil on Earth event but just picked up a copy of this today because of your review. You better not be wrong. Don't screw me over, Travis. Do you hear me? Eh? EH?!?! Ahhhhh I'm just kidding. For real though, I totally picked this up and if it isn't good it's curtains for you, pal. :-D

I was the same way John. I honestly opened the book with a sigh thinking, 'this is your last shot at staying on the pull list Supergirl, so don't blow it'. Thank goodness this was such a strong start for Nelson, and it has completely got me jazzed for the rest of the run.

I've been a slow turn on Asrar. When he first took over it was such a change of style that I crinkled my nose at first, but it has been growing on me as it has continued.

Hopefully the rest of his issues continue in this vein, and if Worlds' Finest has an opening down the line, I know who I am going to back as the new writer!

While I agree that the title can be misleading I think it was a good move on Marvels part to leave it at Xmen. It's a statement that no matter the gender...Xmen are and will always be Xmen. My 2 cents.

Oh man, FINALLY. This is the kind of Supergirl story I want to be reading monthly. Not only is this book fun and humorous (love the spot-on comparison of the Sanctuary AI to GLaDOS), but Supergirl is no longer mopey or self-deprecating. I was growing pretty tired of feeling sorry for Supergirl month in and month out. I swear if I had to read one more line of, "this world doesn't understand me/I don't fit in here" I was going to scream. To be honest I was going to drop the title from my pull list if this issue didn't knock it out of the park but thankfully it's staying put.

My only real gripe was actually with the art. I've been loving Asrar's work on the tile but felt like the pages with the panels displayed against a white background were a little too simple for his art style. I love the issues where his art gets to do something different with the panel layout. The white backgrounds were just a little too dull for me.

Finally got around to seeing Iron Man 3 so I could listen to the whole podcast! Horray!

Anyway, I enjoyed your discussion about "the twist" in Iron Man 3, which I did not see coming at all. Very glad this did not get spoiled for me. Without spoiling anything, I tended to agree with Stephanie's opinion. I do not have any particular affiliation with the character so nothing that the movie did bothered me, but I can totally understand any disappointment from true fans (like Bob, who made a great analogy to The Joker). Personally the only trouble I had with "the twist" is that a majority of the audience probably won't even realize that there has been a departure from the comics and just accept what happens as how it goes down in the source material. As a nerd, this bothers me. But as a filmgoer, the twist was unsuspected and I enjoyed how it played out.

I want to start by saying this is a great article and can't wait to read more of what you have to say. I've recently added this to my pull list in hopes that it'll stay enough out of the current X-Men/Avengers halabaloo for me to enjoy it without feeling like I need to read a dozen other books. That being said, my only gripe with this book is the same one I've had since day one: the title.

Maybe it's just my own ignorance in only keeping up with bits and pieces of the current X-world but I feel like if someone walked into a comic shop looking for the current X-Men, the first place they should go is "Uncanny X-Men" or "All New X-Men", not "X-Men." To me that's not right. I think titling this book "X-Men" is going to lead to some confusion is all.
