Legendary Runs Episode 35: Jeff Lemire, Andrea Sorrentino and Marcelo Maiolo’s Green Arrow

The Run: Green Arrow (New 52) 17-34, Green Arrow 23.1, Green Arrow Futures End and material from Secret Origins #4

With this episode we take a look at Jeff Lemire’s Green Arrow run. This is the comic that help save “The New 52” Oliver Queen from his uninspired slump. However, this is the first time in the 35 episodes that we’ve done this show that we feel as if we’ve given the credit of legendary status to the wrong creator. While Lemire is definitely a strong writer in his own right, this is Andrea Sorrentino’s shinning moment. Also, Mara talks about eyeball stuff. Eyeball stuff bothers Matt. Thanks Jeff, Andrea and Marcelo.

Make sure to check with us next time as we are joined by friend of the show, Brian Keohan for X-Artist Month! Next episode will be John Byrne’s X-Men (Uncanny X-Men #108-109, #111-143)

Matt Wood is a high school English teacher in North Arkansas. His classroom is littered with comic book posters and notes about Hawthorne that are as difficult to decipher as they are to be interested in. Not Matt's fault though, Nathaniel Hawthorne…
