In this episode we cover the gritty world of procedural drama in Gotham City. We go on patrol with Montoya, Allen, Sarge, Driver and the rest of the Detectives of the GCPD in Greg Rucka, Ed Brubaker and Michael Lark’s Gotham Central. We discuss primarily the series’ success at keeping a welcomed distance from Gotham’s more infamous citizens and focusing on a more street level and human perspective. This is easily one of the more enjoyable runs that we have covered and we think it will be reflected in the fact that we go a little over our normal time, but we hope that the conversation warrants the length.
This episode covers Gotham Central #1-40
Make sure to check with us next time as we read Mark Waid and Mike Wieringo’s Fantastic Four, one of the more celebrated modern runs of the title.
