Showtime’s Penny Dreadful To Become A Comic Book

It’s no secret that I’m a HUGE fan of Showtime’s series Penny Dreadful. We’ve talked about it at length on Talking Comics and The Missfits… we’re big fans. Today it was announced that Titan Comics is working to adapt the show into a comic book series.

Now, I’ll preface all of this by saying that I’m not a huge fan of when my favourite shows get turned into comics but every now and again it turns out wonderfully (ie. Orphan Black).

The first book is due to hit store shelves in Spring 2016 and will be written by Chris King, Krysty Wilson-Cairns, and Andrew Hinderaker, with art by Louie De Martinis (Heavy Metal).

If you’re unfamiliar with the show, check out the trailer below to get a feel for it. Spoilers: it’s the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen series that we deserve (that’s a good thing).

Stephanie is [obviously] a comic book fan, but she also considers herself an avid gamer, movie watcher, lover of music, board games fan (although she doesn’t find nearly enough time for them…) and being snarky. Oh, and Twitter. Twitter’s a hobby, right?…

What's your reaction?
