Frank Miller Returns To Writing Batman In “The Dark Knight III: The Master Race”

DC Comics today announced that Frank Miller will return to writing Batman to round off the Dark Knight Trilogy with “The Dark Knight III: The Master Race.” The title will be co-written by 100 Bullets and Wonder Woman writer Brian Azzarello.

DKIII_announcement_image_tall_553a98665e9df3.62191638The eight-part series will be released twice a month under DC Comics and marks the 30th anniversary of the original story “The Dark Knight Returns.” The series is slated to be published late fall 2015. Artists for the series are yet to be announced.

Speaking about the project, Miller said: “Batman remains my favorite comic book hero and a sequel to Dark Knight is going to be daunting, but we’ll do our best.”

“We are thrilled to have Frank back home at DC writing Batman,” according to Dan DiDio and Jim Lee, Co-Publishers for DC Entertainment. “The story he and Brian have crafted is an astounding and triumphant conclusion to this seminal body of work which influenced and shaped generations of readers and creators alike.”
