Courtney is a returning reader to the world of comic books, drawn back in by the power of Tom Hiddleston’s portrayal of Loki in the MCU and her attraction to broken antagonists with questionable hair. Favorite titles she’s currently reading include Loki Agent of Asgard, Saga, Silver Surfer, Ms. Marvel, Gotham Academy, and The Wicked + The Divine. Older favorite comics are Lucifer, Sandman, Kieron Gillen’s Journey into Mystery and Young Avengers, and Runaways. When she is not watching television or reading comics and novels, Courtney torments herself by attempting to write fiction. Her favorite apocalyptic scenario is the eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano. She enjoys riding horses and distrusts chickens, which she considers to be merely T-Rexes in a clever disguise. One day they’ll reveal their true colors and you’ll see. You’ll all see.

    *sigh*

    (Courtney,
Seeing that classic John Byrne cover as your featured image brings home my feelings for what this film should be like.)

I thought when I was searching for images, Bob will like this one! Also, of course, Fox has not yet put out any actual promo images of the film to use. Sigh indeed. I only had a chance to kind of half watch it on my phone while I was getting ready for work before I posted it up here, but it all seemed very ~DRAMATIC~ to me. Sort of like the tone of the last Age of Ultron trailer, really, except that I’m already emotionally invested in the AoU characters, and I don’t “know” these versions of the FF yet, so it doesn’t have the same impact. Apart from my general liking of Miles Teller and Jamie Bell, I can’t say it made me super excited for the film.

I must say the trailer is good. It has me going from not wasting my money to thinking about wasting my money. I’m interested in seeing more at least

I hate to say it, but this kind of reminds me of the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Looks visually amazing, presents some kind of plot line…but could really turn out to be a junky, meandering, unfocused (in the case of ASM2, continuing) origin story.

    I’ll still see it.
