Black Widow and Punisher Getting Animated

With the recent release of Justice League: War and Justice League Adventures: Trapped In Time, Marvel has decided to throw its hat into the animated film ring with the announcement of Marvel’s Avengers Confidential: Black Widow and The Punisher.

The film will be made by Sony Pictures Japan and Madhouse Studios, the same team behind the Marvel Anime series and last years Iron Man: Rise of Technovore and feature Dexter’s Jennifer Carpenter and Brian Bloom as Black Widow and The Punisher respectively.

The plot follows the pair as they team up after Frank has been apprehended by S.H.I.E.L.D. They then are tasked with taking on the terrorist organization known as “Leviathan” which has been stealing S.H.I.E.L.D. technology and selling it on the black market.

Something worth taking notice of is that Captain Marvel appears as a member of the Avengers team. This is the first time Carol has been seen in her modern Captain Marvel outfit in the Marvel cinematic universe. Does this mean more of Captain Marvel in the future? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Marvel’s The Avengers Confidential: Black Widow and The Punisher will be released March 25th.

What are your thoughts on the film based on the trailer? Will you see it when it’s released on DVD? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
