Locke & Key Design Your Own Key Contest

LockeKey2

If you’ve been listening to the Talking Comics podcast, you may have heard something along the lines of “Holy moly do we ever have one helluva cool contest for you kids!” And it’s true, we really, really do. And that’s just my very biasedly unbiased opinion.
I’m going to get right into it and tell you what the contest is and how YOU can win yourself an awesome Locke & Key prize pack including:

AND…

  • A copy of Locke & Key: Omega #1 signed by both Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez

Whoa, right? We doubled up on the Locke & Key: Omega #1 since you’ll probably want to frame the signed copy ASAP.

Now here’s the important bit: how do you WIN this awesome prize pack?

To enter into the contest, you need to come up with your own key that could be used in the series. It can be realistic, silly, funny, outrageous or whatever. You don’t need to be an amazing artist to enter because accompanying your key, you need to include a description of what your key would do and a name for your key.

timeshift keyFor example, the Timeshift Key in Locke & Key allows the user to witness past events as chosen through the grandfather clock in Keyhouse. Though they cannot interfere with the past, it can be used to gain information. A full description is on the key’s Wiki page.

Let’s recap… In order to be entered you need to:
-Design (as in draw) an original Locke & Key key
-Come up with a description of what your key would do

And then technical stuff is this:
-Must be a resident of the US or Canada
-Must have a valid mailing address

Locke & Key: Alpha #1 (of 2) will be hitting comic book stores everywhere soon. This is the beginning of the end of the main series (Joe Hill and co. have said that there will likely be more one-shots and such coming after the “end”).

Our friends at IDW were kind enough to supply the amazing prizes that you are being given a chance to win. You can follow them on Twitter (@IDWPublishing). You can follow Joe Hill (@joe_hill), Gabriel Rodriguez (@GR_Comics) and of course, us (@talkingcomics).

Send your key design in to stephaniecooke@talkingcomicbooks.com (aka the longest email in the world) with the subject Locke & Key Contest. Make sure to include your image and description along with your full name.

This contest will close on September 17, 2013 at 11:59PM EST.
One entry per person.

Stephanie is [obviously] a comic book fan, but she also considers herself an avid gamer, movie watcher, lover of music, board games fan (although she doesn’t find nearly enough time for them…) and being snarky. Oh, and Twitter. Twitter’s a hobby, right?…

What's your reaction?
