With the The Dark Knight Rises, The Amazing Spider-Man and The Avengers all coming to a theater near you it stands to reason that comic book awareness will be at an all time high. Which is very good news for Marvel’s mega blockbuster comic crossover event Avengers vs. X-Men.

The major roadblock for all those moviegoers heading to their local comic book store to pick up this event is the daunting amount of continuity and characters that they would need to know in order to enjoy it.  Marvel seems to realize this, and so have launch a new video series to try and assimilate the initiated into the Marvel universe. It’s called AVX Battle Center and you can find the first episode below.

What do you guys think of the video? Good? Bad? I personally think the idea behind it is sound, but that the overall execution is lacking. I think trying to go the “funny” route is a huge mistake as it makes the people involved seemed embarrassed of the subject matter.  I also hope that future episodes delve a little deeper into the more obscure aspects of the AVX universe. Captain America and Cyclops? These are not obscure figures to any one who might even think about reading comic books. Agree? Disagree? Sound off in the comments!
